Job description

You will translate complex technical mechatronic issues into uncomplicated consumer products. You will work on product development from concept to detailed design in a team consisting of function engineers, application research specialists and electronic engineers.

More specifically, you will be responsible for performing mechanical engineering work in electro-magnetic or electro-mechanical sensor fields. You will work with various sensor technologies such as magnetic, optical or capacitive sensing. You will translate these sensor technologies into new sensor designs for consumer products. You will perform design verification activities to ensure that design meets the specifications of the customer legal requirements. You will coach and stimulate the multi-disciplinary team of product engineers and developers within the projects. You will release the function of new concepts/modules before implementation in product realization project. You will plan, realize and steer the concept development and manage the cross functional aspects as a technical project leader. You will identify the gaps and implement improvements to bring the development approaches to a higher level.

About you

  • You have a Master Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering specialized in Mechatronics
  • You have experience in mechatronic modeling like Matlab / Simulink and software development in C / C++
  • You have minimum 3 years of experience in the field of mechanical/mechatronics (consumer) product development
  • You have experience in working in (international) multi-disciplinary projects, preferably in Business to Consumer
  • You are familiar with state-of-the-art development techniques and CAD. You have knowledge of the design of mechanical constructions in plastic and/or metal and preferably you are familiar with the manufacturability aspects (mould/tooling design), analysis (strength, stiffness) and drive mechanisms
  • You show drive and are quality driven
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma is a plus
